I have never been to a fine dining restaurant and this exceeded my expectations. I am vegan and my husband is not, we were able to order the 6 course tasting menu specially prepared by the chef, I received a 100% vegan menu and my husband got a normal menu with seafood. I felt like the dishes just got better and better each course. I was pleasantly surprised how full I actually was half way through, there was so much food!! It just kept coming!! Service was obviously impeccable. I will say it is a whole experience and you will be there for 2-3 hours or more depending on what you order. Make sure to make a reservation and specify dietary preference and they will be prepared
A beautiful restaurant with great food.
Very good

Top level!!
The proposal is that of the very famous chef Peppe Guida, one Michelin star, but as soon as you arrive you actually have the feeling of being in an osteria: furnished in a refined and classy way, but still in an osteria. This gives off a welcoming and familiar atmosphere that is uncommon in this type of venue. The proposal includes various tasting menus or the possibility of choosing a minimum of two courses à la carte. We chose the La Stella tasting menu, based on seafood proposals. It goes without saying that both the presentation and the quality of the products are at the highest levels. Particularly appreciated was the blue fish, truly excellent. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Overall, a very pleasant experience that I recommend everyone do at least once.
We had wanted to go to Peppe Guida's ancient tavern of Nonna Rosa for a long time. We are three friends who live in different places in Italy and it was a challenge to get the planets to align to organize this day in Vico equense for the Christmas holidays, so the expectations were very high. We arrived in Vico Equense by public transport on a rainy day, so the first suggestion for those who are not by car is to try to get a car to go, given that in the low season there are no taxis nor is there a shuttle service and go up walking in the rain is not exactly the best.
Let's say that in overall opinion the food was good, but certainly not starred, for a series of reasons which I report below:
- we asked for three "Peppe make your own" tasting menus, thinking we would be surprised with something off the menu and instead looking around it seemed like we were at a wedding, all the tables received the same dishes
- despite having specified that there was a vegetarian person, a ball of rice containing lard arrived among the entrees. There is the error, it's not a problem that happens, but once asked if by any chance the rice ball contained meat, the waiter replied with uncertainty that he didn't know and said he would ask in the kitchen. We received no further feedback until we asked again and were told by the same waiter that it actually contained meat.
- an unexpected preponderance of truffles: not even in Alba have we found them so frequently in dishes
- closing the circle, given the rain we had asked to call a taxi, we were invited to walk down in the rain. Here too, it would perhaps be nice to organize ourselves with private taxi services in such situations
In summary, good cuisine but not breathtaking.
Lack of attention, more or less small, that is expected from a starred restaurant which should be a treat for those who decide to go there. Not all customers go there to follow fashions and post photos on social media. There are also those who go there to have a different culinary experience than usual. We left with a bit of a bitter taste in our mouths.
My parents and I went to this restaurant on Sunday 11/14/2023 as we were attracted by a welcoming name.
Let me start by saying that we had never been to a restaurant owned by a starred chef and, having recommended it to me by my mother, I never expected to enter such a place.
We were pleasantly surprised by the refinement of the recipes and the authenticity of the products (some truly special, such as the toasted baked anchovies in the welcome entrée).
The kindness of the waiters is something unique and makes you feel almost like a king.
The only "negative" note I would like to make is that some flavors were a little too delicate for my tastes. We also appreciated that the coffee was made in the mocha, but it was a little watery for all 3 of us at the table... as a good Neapolitan, I can't go down with this😅
For the rest everything was very good and I recommend the experience especially to skeptics who have never tried things like this.
In the end we were happy to have been "wrong" (despite the initial shock of prices well above our possibilities and expectations), because we would probably never have tried such a culinary experience of our own "spontaneous will".
